As the season begins, Summit Girls Soccer will enter the 2026 fall season with something it didn’t have a year ago: experience.

The Hilltoppers finished last season 6-12-1, but the team views the difficult year as an important step in its development. The lessons went beyond the scoreboard, teaching the players the importance of consistency, resilience, and staying together through challenges.
Coach Kelly Klaif reminds us, “Sometimes a rebuilding year is necessary to create the foundation for future success.” And this year, the Hilltoppers aren’t just looking...

There won’t be many easy nights for Summit boys soccer this fall. The Hilltoppers know that. They know the Watchung Division will demand their best every time they step onto the field, and they know that the road to the end of November will be defined by how they respond when games become difficult.
So, rather than searching for one game that will define their season, Summit is preparing for all of them. “We are in the Watchung Division in Union County and every game is tough and a grind,” the coaching staff said.
That mindset fits a team that has built one of its biggest strengths...

A fresh shine on a 97‑year icon.
The Summit Diner has completed a full exterior restoration, returning the 1939 O’Mahony structure to its original appearance after months of work funded through a national historic‑preservation grant.
Michele Greberis, who owns the diner with her husband Jim, said seeing the stainless‑steel façade restored to its historic condition marks a major milestone for the family‑run business.

The first diner on the site opened in 1929 as a lunch wagon serving railroad workers and downtown employees....
Late summer at Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit offers a different kind of beauty – one that’s a little quieter, a little slower, and well worth discovering.
Across the gardens, hydrangeas continue to put on a spectacular display while native perennials, colorful annuals, and pollinator-friendly flowers provide a feast for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Morning walks are filled with birdsong, shady woodland paths offer a welcome escape from the summer heat, and every visit brings something new to discover.
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful stroll, inspiration for your...

The cup is named in honor of Toni Bristol, a legendary, highly respected lacrosse coach who helped launch Pingry’s program in the 1970s and later turned Westfield into a state powerhouse in the 1980s. The annual match-up dates back to 1986. The Westfield girls lacrosse team won their game vs Pingry a few hours later by the score of 12-9 to claim the inaugural Blue Cup.
