The 7th Grade Girls Summit Basketball Club team won the Jersey League Basketball Championship on Sunday, in a big comeback victory over the number-one seeded Branchburg team at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ. “The girls played their hearts out and, with aggressive defense, timely shooting and big foul shots, they pulled out the victory in front of a big crowd,” said Coach Evan Bashoff. The team finished the season with an overall 14-4 record.

David McNamara shot a 73 and Owen Bedell carded a 75 as the Chatham boys golf team won the 2023 Morris County Tournament Championship on Thursday at the Flanders Valley Golf Course. Chatham and runner-up Madison each shot a team score of 305 before the Cougars prevailed in the playoff hole by two strokes. Chatham Boys Track Keeps Winning and Setting Records; Win First-Ever NJAC Large School Championship with 101 Points Ronan Valli shot a 79 and Will DesMarais scored a 78 for Chatham. Hilltopper senior Lily Spinner has been selected as Summit High School’s ‘NJSIAA Scholar Athlete of the Year’ for 2022-23.  She is a three-sport star, having been the starting goalie on both the Maroon and White’s Field Hockey and Girls Ice Hockey Teams, and plays attack on the defending New Jersey Tournament of Champion Girls Lacrosse Team. She holds the record for most career wins and shutouts in Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey program history, and was named captain of both the Ice Hockey and Lacrosse Teams.
