Community Night Returns to Summit on July 22 as Part of Summer Concert Series The City of Summit’s Department of Community Programs has announced that its annual Community Night will take place Tuesday, July 22, on the Village Green at 356 Broad Street. American Humane Society Urges Pet Safety During Summer Heat

As temperatures soar across the country, the American Humane Society is reminding pet owners to take precautions to protect their animals from heat-related dangers. “Unlike humans, dogs do not sweat to regulate their temperatures as efficiently as we do,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane. “That makes dogs especially vulnerable to heat stroke and other dangerous symptoms, which can be fatal.” Ganzert added that summer heat and extreme weather can also lead to power outages. “Make a plan for keeping yourself and your pets safe and comfortable during an unexpected outage,”...

Cranford Fire Department Increases Staffing, Hires First Female Firefighter and Replaces Full-Time EMT

During the recent Township Committee Meeting, the Committee approved the appointments of two new Firefighters including the first female Firefighter in the history of the Department. The Committee also approved the appointment of a full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Chapin Taggart and Paul Richardson have been hired as Probationary Firefighters and Kayla Rajcevic was hired as a full-time EMT.
