Summit Symphony Orchestra to Conclude 86th Season with Free Concert

The Summit Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2024–25 season with a free concert on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Summit High School, located at 125 Kent Place Blvd. Now in its 86th year of offering free orchestral performances in Summit, the orchestra will be led by Music Director Michael Avagliano in a program featuring Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and William Grant Still’s Romance for Saxophone, with acclaimed soloist Paul Cohen. Summit Downtown, Inc. receives $150K state grant for downtown improvements

Summit Downtown, Inc. has been awarded a $150,000 Main Street New Jersey District Transformation Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the organization announced. The grant, the largest awarded to date to SDI, will fund a series of infrastructure and technology upgrades aimed at improving the downtown experience for residents, visitors, and businesses. Funding is made possible through the support of Gov. Phil Murphy and his administration.
