Celebrate National EMS Week Thank a Summit EMT!

Summit EMS celebrated National EMS Week last month. The annual week honors EMTs, paramedics, and first responders, recognizing their dedication to lifesaving care. The City of Summit is fortunate to have a cadre of 45 EMT volunteers who “cover” the town of Summit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to covering the 911 response, Summit EMTs teach Community CPR, AED Awareness, and conduct blood pressure screenings in town.
Along with volunteering weekly, Summit EMTs commit to ongoing continuing education and training. Summit EMS is fortunate to have and relies on the support of the community and area foundations to purchase state-of-the-art response vehicles and equipment. But our most valuable resource, by a landslide, is our people. The equipment and supplies are nothing without our trained volunteers. We are proud of them and thankful for them.
If you get a chance this week, thank a Summit EMT for their service to our community. They are among the best of us. Better yet, consider making a difference and joining us! Summitems.org.
