National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced

That Summit High School student Jungmin Allison Kim has been awarded a prestigious 2026 National Merit $2500 Scholarship, placing her among just 2,500 students selected nationwide from more than 15,000 finalists.

Kim, whose career field is listed as music, earned the scholarship through a highly competitive selection process that evaluated academic achievement, PSAT/NMSQT scores, leadership, extracurricular involvement, essays, and recommendations from school officials.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, winners represent the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Scholars may use the one-time award at any regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
