Overlook Auxillary Celebrates During Annual Spring Luncheon
With gratitude in full bloom, the Overlook Auxiliary welcomed more than 100 guests to its Annual Spring Luncheon on May 15th at the picturesque Baltusrol Golf Club. Embracing a joyful baby shower theme, the event celebrated the Auxiliary’s deep commitment to supporting Overlook Medical Center with imaginative volunteering and fundraising efforts. This meaningful gathering was made possible in part thanks to the generous support of sponsor Lisa Neira and Corient Wealth Management.

Attendees were honored to hear from two guest speakers: Dr. April Graham, Pediatric Physician with Atlantic Medical Group, and Dr. Meg Rosenstein, Associate Chief Medical Officer and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Overlook Medical Center. Their moving and informative remarks highlighted the essential care they provide and the lasting impact of Atlantic Health’s mission in our community.
Brittany Plumeri, a bestselling author, full-time mom, and book coach who’s written in 6+ genres, was the keynote speaker. Her inspiring message on the importance of reading to children touched everyone in the room, and her generous donation of books will go directly toward supporting early childhood literacy through local programs.
The event also proudly recognized three outstanding honorees for their exceptional contributions to the Overlook Auxiliary and the community:
Erin Donadio, recipient of the Community Award, was celebrated for launching the Thanksgiving Baskets initiative, which has grown from 36 baskets in 2017 to over 500 meals delivered in 2024, providing nourishment and kindness to families in need.
Christine Mahoney received the Youth Leadership Champion Award for her mentorship of over 80 student volunteers in the Oak Knoll Jr. Twig, inspiring a future generation of community leaders.
Karen Canniffe was honored with the Auxiliary Pillar Award for over 13 years of unwavering service, leadership, and involvement with numerous initiatives including NP Twig 10 and Art at Overlook.
A highlight of the afternoon was a fashion show featuring apparel and accessories sold at The Gift Shop & Bloom at Overlook. Team member models showcased a curated selection of stylish items, giving attendees a glimpse into the unique offerings available at the shop. The Gift Shop & Bloom is the largest fundraiser for the Overlook Auxiliary, and all purchases directly support the Overlook Medical Center community.
In line with the baby shower theme, donations collected at the event supported mothers and children served by Overlook Medical Center through:
- Onesies for new moms in the Frank and Mimi Walsh Maternity Center
- Books for the Reach Out and Read (ROR) initiative
- Toys and diapers for children supported by HealthStart
Additionally, the Overlook Auxiliary was proud to present a more than $30,000 donation to fund outdoor furniture to enhance employee areas at Overlook Medical Center – a direct response to staff’s request for more fresh-air moments during the day. This investment in the well-being of hospital staff reflects the Auxiliary’s deep appreciation for their dedication and tireless service.
The Overlook Auxiliary is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports Overlook Medical Center with volunteering and fundraising efforts. Founded in 1916, the Overlook Auxiliary has over 300 active members and has contributed more than $21 million to the Medical Center community since its inception.
