Fresh Flavors and New Finds in Downtown Westfield
From hand-rolled bagels to French cuisine and Japanese omakase,
downtown Westfield’s newest businesses are giving residents fresh reasons to head into town.
Glowbar, Bagel Cafe NJ, Kome Omakase, Le Bistrot, and Modern and Classic Rugs are among the additions listed by Downtown Westfield Corporation, expanding the district’s mix of restaurants, shopping, and personal care services.
Le Bistrot

At 103 Quimby St., Le Bistrot brings a French family’s culinary traditions to Westfield. According to the restaurant’s website, its founders created the business to share the cooking and hospitality of a neighborhood bistro in France. Classic French dishes anchor the menu, with lunch, dinner, and special occasions all part of the restaurant’s vision.
Kome Omakase

Kome Omakase, at 407 South Ave. W., puts the meal in the chef’s hands. The Japanese restaurant describes an experience built around seasonal ingredients rather than a fixed menu, with an emphasis on seafood and carefully aged fish. That means the available ingredients help shape each meal. The restaurant also welcomes guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
Bagel Cafe

For a more casual stop, Bagel Cafe NJ has added a Westfield shop at 272 North Ave. E. The business, which also has locations in New Providence and Fanwood, describes its bagels as hand-rolled, water-boiled, and baked on-site. Its offerings include locally roasted coffee, small-batch pastries from Brooklyn, and lunch sandwiches served on bread made from its bagel recipe.
Glowbar

On Elm Street, Glowbar offers a skin care appointment designed to fit into a busy day.
The studio at 118 Elm St. specializes in 30-minute facials. According to the company, licensed estheticians customize treatments to each customer’s skin concerns and goals.
Modern and Classic Rugs

Modern and Classic Rugs, at 11 E. Broad St., adds another destination for home décor shoppers. Its online collection features hand-knotted wool and silk rugs, with design categories ranging from contemporary and geometric to floral and tribal patterns. The selection gives shoppers a variety of colors, materials, and styles to consider for their homes.
Whether the occasion calls for breakfast, an evening out, or a little attention to home and self, these five businesses offer something new to discover around downtown.
