Celebrate Cranford’s history and community spirit at Cranford Day 2026!
Cranford Day 2026, a Showcase of Cranford Organizations, will be held at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, on Sunday, November 1, from noon to 4 p.m. It is a free program open to the public.
The Cranford 250 Revolution NJ Committee organized this special edition of Cranford Day to commemorate 250 years of America and 155 years of Cranford. See the special displays.
Cranford Day originated in the late 1940’s. It was held annually until the early 1950’s when it became Cranford Days. Cranford Days were then held annually until the early 1960’s. These were big, elaborate celebrations. The stores held special sales and events; township departments and buildings held open houses; the schools had special celebrations, including dances; many organizations in town participated; commuters were greeted with coffee and donuts at the train station, and community spirit was strong.
In 2021, after an approximate 58-year absence, Cranford Day was resurrected, in a much more modest form, for the 150th anniversary of Cranford. That Cranford Day celebration was held in parking lot 1 by the gazebo on the corner of North Union and Springfield Avenues.
This year, Cranford Day returns and goes indoors at the Community Center on Walnut Avenue. See the organizations that make Cranford the special place that we all cherish. The legacy continues.
