As the new year begins, the Arboretum welcomes the community to step outside and reconnect with nature through a thoughtfully curated lineup of winter programs for children, teens, and adults.

From hands-on, nature-based activities for young explorers to immersive learning experiences for adults, winter programs at Reeves-Reed Arboretum offer meaningful ways to engage with the landscape and experience the season in all its quiet wonder.

Nature-Inspired Programs for Children

Children’s winter programs at Reeves-Reed Arboretum are rooted in outdoor exploration and hands-on discovery. Young participants engage with the landscape through winter woodland walks, outdoor games, creative craft projects, storytelling, experiments, cooking, and more—activities that evolve with the season, the weather, and each age group.

Weekly winter offerings begin in February and include programs designed for a variety of ages, from infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to elementary-aged children and homeschoolers. These small-group experiences foster curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to nature—even during the colder months.
