Cavan Donnelly Takes the MSG Stage

Cavan Donnelly, a 13-year-old tennis standout from Westfield, New Jersey, was selected to play in a featured juniors exhibition match at Madison Square Garden last month as part of The Garden Cup, which opened the night of professional tennis that included top ATP and WTA stars. His exhibition match against another top national junior kicked off the Garden Cup event, giving the Westfield player a rare chance to compete on one of the sport’s most iconic stages.

Cavan captured multiple titles at top USTA national events and was ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation for the Boys’ 12 and Under division, underscoring his status as one of the country’s promising young players. His tournament success across USTA national competition helped earn him the Garden Cup exhibition opportunity.

In addition to his national event success, Cavan was recognized by the USTA Eastern Section as one of its top players, finishing among the top three in his age group at the sectional Junior Gala Awards. He trained at the Mountainside Racquet Club under coach Steve Ondish, reflecting his ongoing development and impact on the regional junior tennis scene.
