Summit Launches Fundraising Drive for Tatlock Playground Project
The City of Summit’s Department of Community Programs has launched a fundraising campaign to help complete the Tatlock Playground renovation project. With a total project cost of $1.3 million, the city is seeking $400,000 in donations to close the funding gap.
The initiative follows previous funding allocations, including $750,000 from the city’s 2024 and 2025 municipal capital budgets. The project has also received $102,000 through a combination of the New Jersey Local Recreation Improvement Grant and the Union County Kids Recreation Trust Fund Grant.
“We are excited about the future of Tatlock Playground and eager to see community members enjoy the space once the project is complete,” said Mark Ozoroski, director of the Department of Community Programs. “We hope you will consider making a donation, purchasing a bench, or sponsoring a play structure to help us complete this important project.”
As part of the campaign, residents and local businesses can contribute in several ways. Sponsorship opportunities are available for six play structures and five benches, with donors having the option to be recognized on a commemorative plaque. The department is also offering four levels of giving through its “Owl Hall of Fame.”
Potential playground designs are available online. The final design will depend on the outcome of fundraising efforts ahead of the August 1 deadline.
