Cranford Jaycees Reel in Family Fun at Annual Father’s Day Fishing Derby

Save the Date: Sunday, June 15 | 9:00–11:00 a.m. | Nomahegan Park

There’s no better way to celebrate Father’s Day in Cranford than by spending a morning at the pond with a fishing rod, a little friendly competition, and a whole lot of family fun. The Cranford Jaycees’ Leonard Snyder Memorial Father’s Day Fishing Derby returns this year on Sunday, June 15, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at beautiful Nomahegan Park—and as always, it’s completely free.

Named in honor of long-time Cranford resident and community leader Leonard Snyder, the derby has become a beloved tradition for families across the area. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just learning to cast a line, all are welcome to join.

The pond will be freshly stocked with bass and catfish, and free bait and bobbers will be available to all participants. Just remember to bring your own rod and reel. Prizes will be awarded by age group for the biggest fish caught, so there’s plenty of incentive to show off those fishing skills—or just try your luck!

“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said a representative from the Cranford Jaycees. “It brings generations together, gets kids outdoors, and strengthens our sense of community. Plus, who doesn’t love a little competition?”

Spots are limited, so don’t forget to register in advance via the link in our bio. Grab your gear, gather the family, and get ready to cast off for an unforgettable morning by the water.
