Help Make the Holidays Merry at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

The holiday season is a festive time at Reeves-Reed Arboretum, and community members are invited to help prepare for the Arboretum’s upcoming December celebrations. From decorating wreaths to creating a display of holiday trees, there are several ways for local residents, businesses, families, and community groups to get involved.

Volunteers are needed to help decorate holiday wreaths for the Arboretum’s December events. Decorating sessions begin November 17, offering an opportunity to be creative, lend a hand, and help bring holiday cheer to the community. Volunteers can sign up for sessions through the Arboretum’s website.
Local organizations, businesses, families, and school or scout groups are also invited to sponsor and decorate a tree for the Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 6, from 11 am to 4 pm. Inspired by the Arboretum’s former Festival of Trees, this scaled-down version will feature a festive collection of uniquely decorated trees created by members of the community.
The Arboretum will provide the trees, while participating groups supply the decorations and bring their own creative ideas to life. Guests attending the Holiday Open House will vote for their favorite trees, with first- and second-place prizes awarded. Participating groups may also take their decorated tree home after the event. A sponsorship fee applies, and the number of trees is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Tree decorating will take place on Saturday, December 5, from 10 am to 2 pm.
The Holiday Open House will also feature seasonal activities and the popular Cookies, Cocoa, and Photos with Santa experience. Advance registration is required for Santa photos, and reservations often fill quickly. Registration is now open for volunteer decorating sessions, tree sponsorships, and Santa photos at reeves-reed arboretum.org.
Whether lending a hand behind the scenes, creating a festive tree display, or attending the holiday festivities, community members can help make the season brighter at Reeves-Reed Arboretum.
