A Downtown Stage Awaits Student Musicians This Fall
Summit is putting out a call for local area young musicians this fall, with a new opportunity to take the stage in the heart of downtown.
Summit Downtown, Inc. is launching the Summit Street Sounds Fall Student Edition, a pilot program featuring student musicians at the Promenade on Friday, Sept. 25, and Friday, Oct. 30. Performances will run from 5 to 8 p.m., with sets ranging from 15 minutes to an hour.
Organizers are looking for approximately five to 10 solo performers or groups for each evening.
“This is our way to give local aspiring talent a chance to shine within our beautiful downtown,” organizers said.
The program is intended to give students the experience of treating a performance as a professional gig, while organizers are also exploring ways to recognize participating musicians for their performances.
With the school year approaching, organizers are seeking student musicians interested in participating.
