Oak Knoll Wins Union County Tournament

Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child has spent the past week proving something important about championship teams: surviving a rivalry battle is one thing — responding on an even bigger stage is another.
Oak Knoll returned to the field Saturday and defeated Kent Place again, this time 9-6 to capture the Union County Tournament title.
In the county final, Oak Knoll built a 3-1 first-quarter lead and held a 6-3 advantage at halftime before finishing with the three-goal victory.
Maris McGinty scored five goals in the championship game. Kierstin Oakes added two goals and one assist, while goalie Angeli Garcia made nine saves.
Caitlyn Quinn collected four goals and one assist for Kent Place (13-2). Kent Place is 5-0 in the Stars and Stripes White Division.
