Atlantic Health Hospitals Score Highest Grades For Safety
Leapfrog Group issues national recognition for commitment to patient safety
Four Atlantic Health medical centers earned top marks for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group in its Fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grades. Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center, Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center and Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center all earned coveted ‘A’ Grades in the biannual report measuring a hospital’s performance across numerous safety metrics.
Two of the hospitals (Morristown and Overlook) continued their streak of ‘A’ Grade marks extending back numerous years. Morristown Medical Center has maintained an ‘A’ Grade since Fall 2015 and Overlook Medical Center has been a consistent ‘A’ since Spring 2021.
Additionally, Atlantic Health CentraState Medical Center continues to make significant strides in improving its Leapfrog score as data for current years is added to the Leapfrog evaluation process and was recognized with an improved ‘B’ Grade as it continues trending towards top level performance.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
