This Holiday Season at UCPAC

Celebrate the spirit of the season with unforgettable performances at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway, NJ. Whether you’re continuing beloved traditions or creating new ones, our stages in historic downtown Rahway—both the historic Main Stage and the modern Hamilton Stage—offer holiday experiences for all ages.

The season begins with a sensory-friendly performance of The Nutcracker by New Jersey Ballet, presented by the Union County Board of County Commissioners. Next, the internationally acclaimed Cherish the Ladies, celebrating 40 years of Celtic music and dance, returns for their third UCPAC performance—complete with world champion Irish step dancers and beloved holiday carols.

Then comes a classical music lover’s dream weekend with our partners Wharton Arts’ New Jersey Youth Symphony’s journey through the cosmos with Galaxies of Joy on the 13th. On December 14, New Jersey Opera Theater brings a touch of wonder with The Christmas Spider, a new opera inspired by a Ukrainian holiday folk tale and developed with the American Opera Project.

To round out the festivities, enjoy our annual 35mm screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol, featuring a pre-show concert on our historic “Biggest Little Wurlitzer” organ—and a special visit from Santa and friends. Plus, families can delight in our Popcorn & Pajamas kids’ movie series, with two screenings of The Polar Express at Hamilton Stage, complete with free hot chocolate, popcorn, and a take-home craft.
