FALL INTO FUN AT REEVES-REED ARBORETUM

Gather your family and friends and head to Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit this October for two of the season’s most anticipated celebrations!

Kick off the festivities at OKTOBERFEST on Saturday, October 4, from 4–8 pm. This annual fundraiser transforms the Arboretum into a lively beer garden with bottomless seasonal ales, Bavarian-style bratwurst, pretzels, and hearty German sides prepared by Barth’s Market. Add in a live German band, lawn games, and plenty of dancing, and you have the perfect autumn evening. Break out your lederhosen or dirndl—festive attire is highly encouraged!

“By raising a glass at Oktoberfest, you’re toasting more than just good beer-you’re championing a local treasure!” shared RRA’s Executive Director, Jackie Kondel. “As a nonprofit organization, Reeves-Reed Arboretum relies on community support to keep our gates open and admission free for everyone. Every sip you take helps sustain our flourishing gardens, preserves precious woodlands, and funds the environmental education programs that spark wonder in thousands of children and families every year.”

Next, mark your calendar for Sunday, October 19, from 11 am–3 pm, when the Arboretum hosts its beloved CELEBRATE FALL Festival. Families will enjoy fall-themed games, crafts, photo ops in the gardens and woodlands, a spooky Halloween trail, pumpkin patch, music, an art exhibit, adorable goats, and tasty treats from market and food vendors. Kids are encouraged to come in costume for even more seasonal fun!

“Our festivals are all about bringing the community together to celebrate the beauty and warmth of the season,” said Althea Llewellyn, RRA’s Director of Education. “With activities for both children and adults, these events create lasting memories for families and friends on our beautiful grounds.”

Advance registration is strongly encouraged for both events, as attendance is limited. For full details and to register, visit reeves-reedarboretum.org. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is located at 165 Hobart Avenue, Summit, NJ. Questions? Email info@reeves-reedarboretum.org or call 908.273.8787 x 1010.
