Cranford Teacher Named Union County Teacher of the Year

Cranford resident Karen Carey-Lynch, an English language arts and gifted education teacher at Roselle Park Middle School, has been named Union County Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026.

Individual schools select Teachers of the Year, who are eligible to apply for County Teacher of the Year through the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program, recognizing the commitment and expertise of outstanding educators.

“Great teachers make for great schools, and New Jersey is home to the best public school system in the nation,” Governor Phil Murphy said.

“The County Teachers of the Year celebrate the kind of dynamic and innovative instruction we see in classrooms across New Jersey,” said Education Commissioner Kevin Dehmer.
