Summit BOE Celebrates Retirees

At last month’s Board of Education meeting, the Summit Public Schools honored 11 dedicated staff members who are retiring this year, celebrating their careers and years of service to the students, families, and community of Summit.

The June 12 meeting included a formal presentation recognizing each retiree (in alphabetical order), with school leaders sharing memories, photos, and words of appreciation. Several retirees stood beside school principals, supervisors, and district administrators as they were honored for their lasting impact on their schools.

“Thank you for joining us as we gather to celebrate remarkable individuals,” Superintendent Scott Hough said during the ceremony. “Tonight we come together to honor and recognize those who are embarking on a new chapter in their life: retirement.

“Retirement marks the culmination of years—decades—of hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment,” Hough added. “It’s a time when individuals transition from their professional lives to a world of newfound freedom and exploration. It’s a momentous occasion that deserves our reflection and celebration.”
