Summit Symphony Orchestra to Conclude 86th Season with Free Concert

The Summit Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2024–25 season with a free concert on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Summit High School, located at 125 Kent Place Blvd.

Now in its 86th year of offering free orchestral performances in Summit, the orchestra will be led by Music Director Michael Avagliano in a program featuring Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and William Grant Still’s Romance for Saxophone, with acclaimed soloist Paul Cohen.

Cohen has performed with major orchestras across the country, including the New Jersey Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, New York Philharmonic and American Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves on the faculties of the Manhattan School of Music, Rutgers University, Columbia University, New York University and Queens College.
