Upcoming ‘Art at Overlook’ Exhibit will Feature Paintings by Elizabeth Gillin
Summit, NJ – Overlook Auxiliary is pleased to announce its upcoming art show featuring paintings by Elizabeth Gillin, a recipient of consecutive state and county awards for her works. More than 75 paintings, including people, seascapes, landscapes, and animal portraits will be on display. The show, which is open to the public, will take place from August 4 through November 3. A public opening reception will be held at Overlook Medical Center on Wednesday, August 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests can RSVP by visiting https://www.oaux.org/events/overlook-auxiliary-gallery-opening-2/
Painting has been a passion of Elizabeth’s since childhood. As her craft has evolved, her contributions to the art community have been recognized with several awards: First Place and Best of Show in the 2022 and 2023 Union County Senior Art Shows, and First and Second Place consecutively in the New Jersey State Senior Art Shows.
“This selection of paintings represents years of my evolution as an artist,” says Elizabeth. “My background in interior design, particularly my work with color and space, has greatly enhanced my art. I am thrilled to showcase so many of my pieces together.”
The “Art at Overlook” program highlights the work of artists in the Overlook Auxiliary & Bobeck Gallery halls of Overlook Medical Center. Program exhibits rotate every three months, and all of the art displayed is available for sale, with 20 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Overlook Auxiliary. The art is open for viewing during normal visiting and business hours (10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
The exhibit is sponsored by the Overlook Auxiliary, a charitable organization that supports Overlook Medical Center with volunteering and fundraising efforts. Founded in 1916, the Overlook Auxiliary has approximately 200 active members and has contributed more than $20.7 million to the Medical Center community since its inception.
