First Annual Brightwood Park Day
Set For May 6
It’s a nature preserve. It’s a walker’s haven. It’s a learning environment. It’s a history lesson. It’s Brightwood Park! Yes, Brightwood is that hidden gem tucked away nicely on the north side of town, and a park that has gone through quite the transformation for the better in the past two years thanks to Friends of Brightwood Park ((FOBP) initiatives.
On May 6, Friends of Brightwood plan to pull out all the stops so that residents near and far can experience what the park has to offer, with a schedule of events all day long.
Early bird? Join the birding walk as the first activity of the day at 7am. How about some photography tips after that to catch that perfect shot of one of the park’s resident animals? Also on offer is a meditation session and forest bathing, yoga, and even a history walk detailing the park’s original inhabitants. Tack on fairy house building, a nature hike specifying trees, invasive species and pollinator gardens and additional hands- on activities for families and you have a fun-filled day utilizing the park’s natural beauty.
Please visit the FOBP webpage for more information and full schedule as it unfolds: www.friendsofbrightwoodpark.org
Some events require preregistration.
