Describe what your company does. How long has it been in business?
We are a local soccer specialty store carrying all soccer apparel, footwear, and equipment since 2012.
What special sports gear do you have on hand for the Spring season?
We have already received most of the latest releases of soccer shoes by Nike and Adidas brands, popularized by Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé and World Cup Champion Lionel Messi. Very soon, we will also be receiving the new MLS and European club jerseys for the 2023 season.
You seem to have a certain knowledge of knowing what types of gear to have on hand for your customers year-round. Does that come from your experience in the local town?
Yes, over the years we’ve learned that our high traffic and busiest times of the year are typically early Spring (March) and late Summer (mid to late August). We have most of our orders arriving into our store during these times, coinciding with these two key seasons.
Tell us about the customer experience at your specialty shop, versus a big box retailer out on the highway.
Anyone who comes into our store can expect a level of customer service and attention that we like to consider second to none. We never rush our customers to make a choice and we work to ensure they leave with a purchase they are happy with.
What would you consider your company’s strongest key to success?
Besides our convenient location (with the bonus of having our own free parking lot), the wide selection of items to choose from has been one of the biggest keys to our success over the years.
How can others learn from your commitment and inspiration?
What’s most important to success? Our business filled a void in the Westfield/Cranford area that was in need of a nearby location to shop for their soccer needs. Soccer has been the fastest-growing major sport in the United States. Despite this, our first two years in town were tough to stay in business, but we stuck through it believing local shoppers would respond to a family-owned business and help it to succeed. Determination and passion for the sport were and are also essential to find success.
