How long have you lived here and what brought you to town?
We moved from NYC at the start of the pandemic although the timing was coincidence, we had been looking in the area for months and just happened to buy right as things started getting hectic. We knew we would end up in this area because we already had a lot of friends and family in the area.
What are your favorite family activities?
Summer sports games with the kids, particularly the ones on the outdoor fields when the weather is nice.
What’s your favorite restaurant and/or place to shop?
It’s tough to pick one but my favorite restaurants are Sweet Waters Steak House, Chez Catherine and Wasai Bistro. For shopping, I enjoy the local thrift shops, Francis Henri and Town Book Store.
What was the best advice on motherhood that you ever received?
You’re doin’ great! Being a new mom there’s a constant worry about milestones, if they’re eating enough, drinking enough, socializing enough and in between all that, there’s a million other things happening. It’s a lot to manage so I try to remember that we’re doing fine. Everything is going to be just fine.
Tell us about your job or passion.
Traditionally some would say I’m an influencer although I still haven’t fully embraced that title. In my mind, I’m just sharing what I love: consumer safety, child safety and cybersecurity tips, mixed in with other things happening in my life. Before social media I was a television host and I traveled the country doing segments, but when studios shut down, I started posting on social media and that’s when things began to shift. What started as me posting random TikToks, ended up earning me an invite to the White House so you never know where things will lead. It’s been an incredible journey and so far, there’s no signs of me slowing down even with 2 under 2.
What inspired you to follow this career?
My early posts may have been random in that I was simply sharing experiences from my life, but as I saw people resonating with it, enjoying the tips and requesting more, I realized that I had a responsibility. A responsibility to bring awareness to everyday safety tips, including issues around child safety, data privacy and protecting our families online.
Anything we missed?
Probably one of the things I’m most excited about right now is expanding to a Spanish language channel. A lot of what I share is PSA information and because I’m bilingual one of my top requests has been offering the same information in Spanish so I’m excited to finally start creating that content.
