Visual Arts Center of New Jersey to Shine On at Annual Gala!
The Visual Art Center of New Jersey’s 90th Anniversary celebration continues as the Art Center prepares for its annual spring gala at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit on Saturday, April 29. The Shine On: 90th Anniversary Gala, presented by Premier Event Sponsors Chubb and Risk Strategies, is the highlight event of the year-long celebration and will feature live music by Art-Strings Ensemble, a festive cocktail hour, a delicious seated dinner, and the Art Center’s signature silent auction of exciting contemporary art. In addition, celebrity auctioneer, C.K. Swett, will return to host a thrilling live auction of exclusive art and experiences!
“We are incredibly excited to bring the Art Center community together again for the gala this year to celebrate our 90th Anniversary,” says Gala Co-Chair and VACNJ Trustee, Kate Buchanan. “Gala proceeds are critical to enabling the Art Center’s important work of transforming lives by bringing our communities together through art.”
Co-chaired by Kate & John Buchanan and Lisa Butler & Bob Kelly, the evening honors the Wilf Family Foundations for their transformational support of the Art Center over the years and recognizes Layqa Nuna Yawar as our 2023 Changemaker Award recipient.
“Each year, VACNJ’s spring gala plays a vital role in supporting the important work done by the Art Center,” says Lisa Butler, Gala Co-Chair, former VACNJ Board Chair, and 2022 Art & Soul Gala Honoree. “This year’s gala is no exception, but it holds additional significance as it’s the marquee event in the Art Center’s year-long 90th Anniversary celebration. The funds raised as part of this event will help us continue the essential work we do for under-resourced communities throughout New Jersey, both in the coming year and, hopefully, for 90 more!”
