Tell us about your Christmas decorations. How did this start?
The day we closed on our house we were told by our new neighbors that John St. is the “Christmas Street” so we better be ready. When our first Christmas rolled around, we put up some lights and maybe two inflatables. About a week later a few friends played a joke on us and took our blow ups. We told our families that our decorations were taken off the front lawn and they felt so bad for us that they collectively bought us five new inflatables....

What is Building Bridges?
Building Bridges is an after-school program whose mission is to build a bridge for kids between the different schools in town. The director of Cranford’s program, Nikki Savino Mulcahy, said, “Offering kids these opportunities to socialize at the K-5 level gives them both an ability to make more friends and not feel as overwhelmed when they get to the high school level.”
“I tell those interested in the program that Building Bridges is like if you put camp counseling, babysitting, and teaching in a blender. That’s what a student will get from...

It is a normal day of scrolling through Instagram. You see models posing with perfect hair, perfect skin, perfect bodies.
“How can people look so perfect?” You think. Well, they aren’t perfect. In today’s society, it has become common to use filters and editing on social media apps such as Instagram or Snapchat. This can take a negative toll on one’s self esteem and body confidence. A new app, BeReal, is meant to encourage people to be more authentic, instead of trying to present their best (fake) selves.

Where/why did you get your pets?
We were looking for a rescue for a year, but they were in short supply in 2020. The kids at home are quick to befriend dogs and a parent used to volunteer in a dog shelter. When we saw Nethra at 8 weeks old in a pet shop, we decided that she belonged at home.
Is there a story behind their names?
Nethra means “beautiful eyes” in several Indian languages, which felt appropriate given the puppy’s hazel...
