Cranford has served as host to many productions over the years, working together with the NJMPTVC for almost 20 years, and this solidifies our community as a top choice for filmmakers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocation scouts always point to the diversity of housing styles and downtown buildings that fit any era,\u201d Kathleen Miller Prunty, Township Commissioner and liaison to the Downtown Management Corporation (DMC) board, said.<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian homes of Holly Street were chosen to film \u201cMothers\u2019 Instinct,\u201d set in the 1960\u2019s, starring A-list actors Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. Other notable films include: \u201cMaybe I Do\u201d (starring Dianne Keaton and Emma Roberts), \u201cDaughter of the Bride\u201d (starring Marcia Gay Harden and Aidan Quinn), \u201cFar from Heaven\u201d (starring Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore), \u201cGuess Who,\u201d (starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher), \u201cJersey Girls\u201d and HBO\u2019s \u201cPlot Against America\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFilm production companies are looking for cooperation, but also predictability when selecting a location. The Cranford Police Department and DMC have always worked to make the process easy while ensuring that Cranford\u2019s interests are protected. There are companies that specifically request Cranford because they like working here,\u201d Ms. Miller Prunty added.<\/p>\n<p>Cranford was also selected as the locale for television shows, including \u201cPete &amp; Pete\u201d and \u201cEd,\u201d and commercials for the Super Bowl, Dunkin\u2019 Donuts, and State Farm Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s always fun to see the crowds of residents watching the productions and hoping to see their favorite stars. We always appreciate when casts and crews patronize our local businesses. I\u2019ve met people who returned to Cranford to visit our restaurants and stores after productions ended.
