{"id":31267,"date":"2023-02-03T14:02:11","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T14:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/?p=31267"},"modified":"2023-02-03T14:02:11","modified_gmt":"2023-02-03T14:02:11","slug":"knights-of-columbus-makes-joint-donation-with-support-from-martins-jewelers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/?p=31267","title":{"rendered":"Knights of Columbus Makes Joint Donation with Support from Martin\u2019s Jewelers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Garwood and Cranford Knights of Columbus Councils held a joint Final Four fundraiser\u00a0 last year to help and assist Cranford Firefighter Rob Hurewitz and his family after hearing about the end of his career as a Cranford Firefighter due to medical issues.\u00a0 When Ellen Ramer of Martin\u2019s Jewelers saw what we had done for Rob, she reached out to our Council to see how we could work together to help him some more.\u00a0 Ellen graciously donated a beautiful pair of diamond<\/p>\n<p>earrings that we were able to raffle off as a fundraiser.\u00a0 Working together with Ellen and with the support of Caren Demyen of Downtown Cranford, we were able to raise over $6,000 for Rob and his family.\u00a0 We also had a very deserving winner in Gina Pachkowski, the owner of Alleum Yoga here in town who is a big supporter of many charities and causes here in Cranford.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_31269\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31269\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31269 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/2022-K-of-C-Donation-to-the-Hurewitz-Family.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"489\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/2022-K-of-C-Donation-to-the-Hurewitz-Family.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/2022-K-of-C-Donation-to-the-Hurewitz-Family-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-31269\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Knights of Columbus Jewelers Earing Winner Presentation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pictured at the presentation to our winner at Martin\u2019s Jewelers from the left are Cranford Fire Chief Dan Czeh, our Worthy Chaplain Monsignor Tim Shugrue, Ellen Ramer, our winner Gina Pachkowski, and our Worthy Grand Knight Jerry Conheeney.\u00a0 On behalf of Ellen and Martin Jewelers, the Cranford Council would like to thank everyone who supported this worthy fundraiser, and we are very appreciative of all of the support that we received from Caren and<\/p>\n<p>our local Cranford businesses and our special friends in our community.
