{"id":30646,"date":"2022-11-17T19:51:19","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T19:51:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/?p=30646"},"modified":"2022-12-06T08:20:08","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T08:20:08","slug":"festival-of-trees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/?p=30646","title":{"rendered":"FESTIVAL OF TREES!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reeves-Reed Arboretum, a non-profit public garden in Summit, New Jersey will be celebrating the holiday season with its annual <em>Festival of Trees: A Multicultural Celebration of the Holidays<\/em>.\u00a0 On Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 11 am &#8211; 3 pm, children and families are invited to come learn about Kwanza, Hanukkah, Christmas, and the Winter Solstice. 30+ trees will also be scattered throughout the historic grounds for guests to enjoy; each one decorated by a local non-profit, business, family, school, or scout group. In past years the trees have been decorated to represent certain holidays, hobbies, nature, environmental and social causes, and more. Guests can vote for their favorite tree and prizes will be awarded. The day is rounded out with music, a holiday market, crafts and activities, photos with Santa, a woodland story walk, and more.\u00a0 Event tickets will be available at reeves-reedarboretum.org. If a local group or organization is interested in decorating a tree for the event, they can email Doreen Schindler at d.schindler@reeves-reedarboretum.org for details.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30604\" src=\"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/14..jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"810\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/14..jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.localmedianj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/14.-259x300.jpg 259w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the 21+ older crowd, Reeves-Reed Arboretum will be hosting a <em>Festival of Trees Preview Party<\/em> on Saturday, December 10 from 7-9 pm.\u00a0 Adult guests can tour the lighted trees throughout the grounds and enjoy a \u201cspirited\u201d celebration in the historic Wisner House by sampling a collection of cocktails and desserts representing the holiday season.\u00a0 A magical tree, decorated by a local designer, will also be auctioned off. All items will be for sale during the Festival of Trees event on December 11 and a selection of items can be ordered in advance from the Arboretum\u2019s pre-sale website at reeves-reed.company.site.
